Getting involved in your Favorite sport. Volunteer.
It’s fun out there riding with friends and family, nice groomed trails, good
signings so you don’t get lost, other riders updating websites. This whole
sport runs with volunteers, people taking time out of their busy schedule
to help with the sport they love. Sometimes we take for granted all the
hard work that goes into our beloved Sport.
All Volunteers.
We had back to back snowstorms and lots of trees down on all the trails,
when we went on our shakedown ride.
We were in the Munising area and our riding was restricted to certain
areas because of downed trees. We needed miles cleared and they could
only get 3 volunteers to help, we needed a lot more than that. If we don’t
support our sport it will go away. Our club needs volunteers, if we can’t
get enough people to help with club activity’s our club will cease to exist.
We need some youth in running this club. We have all kinds of projects
going, all you need to do is step up and Volunteer. If your good at social
media, we need you, if your good at accounting we need you. Whatever
your good at we need you. We have a bunch of older riders running this
club, it sure would be nice to get some younger riders involved in the
board, we need fresh ideas, different ways of doing things.
When I started in management my mentor told me one important thing.
If you need something done give it to a busy person, they know how to
get things done in a timely manner.
So please take some time and Volunteer. Call someone on the board and
ask what you can do to help. If we don’t step up our club and sport will
cease to exist. Just think how bad the trails would be if we didn’t have
volunteer groomers. Think of the worst trail you were on last year, that
would be all the trails all the time. PLEASE GET INVOLVED.
