SNOMADS BOARD MEETINGS GO VIRTUAL

Normally, the Snomads board always meets in person 10 to

12 times per year to discuss club business and organize
events. Well, with the "new normal" that is upon us all, we
tried to hold our first Board meeting online with a virtual vid-
eo conference. It started out a bit rough... Jeff had his camera
turned sideways and Merle kept dropping offline. But once
we got the cameras turned the right way and Merle got

online with his phone instead of the computer, it got much
better. We had what almost felt like a "normal" board
meeting. And in some ways, it was actually better. The treas-
urer's report was shown on screen and was highlighted and
annotated, making review a little easier. Marty kept the

agenda in front of us at the transition of each topic. The con-
versation went smooth and everyone understood that only
one person could talk at a time. Overall, it went quite well,
and we are going to try doing this again next month. Maybe
adoption of this technology will allow some of our far-flung
members who have always wanted to participate on the

board an opportunity to do so. Watch out, world, here comes
the new, hip, and tech-savvy Snomads Board!
