At about 125 MPH we buzzed the group and the white crown Victoria,
plain wrapped county Mountie. Two words flashed in my mind, Oh Shit,
as the red and blue grill lights of the cop’s car closed in. Yep, it’s ticket
time, but he was super understanding! He never saw us coming, didn’t
clock our speed, and asked, “How fast were you going?” About 100 we
responded.
He said, “ I couldn’t tell how fast you were going, but you blew my doors
off.” One cool cop, he must have been a rider. He said, “Slow down and
be safe.” He wrote us for 15 over. I was happy.
We continued through Illinois (state #9) and Indiana
(state #10) which brought us back home with 3900 miles, in nine days
through 10 states on two wheels.
One amazing trip and all safe and sound!
