Summer seems to always take it’s time to arrive, then quicker than you can blink an eye its Labor Day and summer is coming to a close. This summer provided lots of heat and I suspect many of us spent time, boating, atv riding, camping, swimming, or just trying to stay cool. The summer’s heat and activities are coming to an end which always leads us to our annual family picnic at Pontiac State Park in Waterford. It was wonderful to see everyone that attended this year; I overheard many members discussing their new sled purchases along with the rides their planning on attending. The picnic was a success this year, we had a very good turnout which provided good food, smiling faces, and as always time on the lake with pontoon boats, what a great time! I would like to thank every-one that helped with the set up, planning, cooking, and clean up. Without these volunteers events like the picnic would not be possible. Thank You!

During these past summer months, the board of director’s work never stops, I’d like to announce that our club Secretary Bill Sheldon, who has served the club for many years has retired his position. On behalf of myself and the board, I like to thank him for everything he has done to help this club move in a positive direction. Bill will be greatly missed, but will continue to serve in other capacities. The past few months have been very challenging for the nominating committee to fill key positions. I like to announce the election of Ron Schroeder as our new club secretary, and Heidi Weisel as trustee. Both were elected at our last annual board of directors meeting.

We made new changes to our member and guest rider waivers of liability, as well as the club General Liability and D&O policy. A new contract sign for 2012 trail permits and the ordering of M.S.A raffle tickets. Extensive planning and reservations had to be made for some of this year’s ‘club rides, we also looked into a new option for storage of all the clubs property, along with a new club phone plan. We had new By-Law language that needed to be re-written and sent to the membership to vote on at our next general membership meeting.

Again! Thanks to all that helped during the summer months. I’d like to remind everyone of the General Membership Meeting September 25, 2011 at Waterford Eagles Hall 4761 Highland Rd. (M-59) at 6:00 P.M.   The F.W.O ladies will be serving dinner at 4:30 P.M and the meeting follow immediately.

The MSA annual All Sports Show & Swap Meet  is September 23 thru 25Th at U.S Motor Sports Park in Martin, MI.

If anyone needs more information on any of these events, please let us know.

In closing, I wish to welcome everyone to the Snomads Snofari Club for another year of exciting, spectacular rides, I hope everyone will be able to join us. So come out and enjoy yourself with all the Snomads have to offer.
