November 2011 Presidents Message

With the fall season winding down and winter fast approaching, we look to the start off a busy 2011/2012 snowmobile season and our twenty seventh year. The club is fiscally sound; new memberships are up, and all of our paper work has been properly filed with the state. All-in-all this is a very positive way to start the season.
The ride coordinators have been taking on the difficult task of putting together what I believe will be a very impressive ride schedule for this season. This seasons rides will offer some of the same favored rides from past years with the infusion of a few new destinations, making this season very memorable. There are two new rides in the final planning stages, these rides are not on the ride list and will be posted when they are completed. For anyone who would like to become a ride coordinator, we have a few open weekends which need a ride. Your participation in these will be needed in order for us to be successful.

Ski-Doo Million dollar club support:

Again this year, BRP and Ski-Doo dealers continue to pledge to snowmobile clubs’ for the 2011/2012 snowmobile season. For each Snomad member who fills out and drops off a coupon at Option-I: any Ski-Doo dealership of your choice. Option-II: at our Novi Show booth or the KOP. We will take the completed coupons to the dealer for you between now and November 15, 2011. BRP and its dealers will donate $10 cash to the club. It’s that simple! Each snowmobile club is eligible for a total Ski- Doo donation of up to $1,500 in CASH (150 members x $10= $1,500) paid directly to SnomadS. This is very important for our club; it’s free money for very little work from each member. If you’re ever ask yourself what you can do to give back to your club? This is it. Please help us with this endeavor.

Novi SnowmobileUSA Show:

The dates for this show are November 4th-6th 2011. Our club will be holding one of the largest safety classes in the state, taking place on Saturday the 5th. If anyone has a child or knows of others that need to take the class you can register in advance on our web site or call the office. For the fourteenth year our club will have a booth at the Novi Show (#117). This promotes our clubs goals and is one of our clubs’ largest fund raisers. Selling Michigan trail permits, our club will receive $1 for each ticket sold. Tickets are going up this year from $35 to $45 and will remain at $45 for the next five years. Hopefully the extra $10 will go into our snowmobile general fund. This will have an enormous impact on new trails being developed and current trails getting the attention they need. In closing, if anyone has three hours to help with the club working our booth please call James Jetke @ 586-909-8697

Kick Off Party:
As of this writing the recreation committee has been hard at work summarizing the final details for this year’s party. As in the past there will be an awards ceremony, great food, ride fliers, trail permits, and our Hugh prize give-a-way with a chance at winning the 50/50 drawing. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
I will end this with a note about the upcoming season which represents our twenty seventh year. This milestone could not have been achieved without the four base principles we were founded on: Charity- Education- Recreation- Conservation. I thank all of the committed volunteers making our club a great success and ask for your continued support.
