February 2013 – President’s Message

It’s hard to believe that we are entering into February already. Especially when I have logged only 605 miles and only 330 of those are on my sled!Prez

Once again we’ve had to cancel half of our rides this season due to a lack of snow. However, the rides that were held were well attended and the reports were of good conditions. Good locations. And most importantly good memories made.

The reality is, any of us can get make a hotel reservation, pull our trailer to the motel, unload and ride, all by ourselves. But what fun is that?

Isn’t the reason we all decided to join a snowmobile club, so that we would have others to share in the entire experience?

So that when you stop for lunch at some out of the way restaurant, you can experience that one guy that just can’t get over the $5 hamburger. So that after the sleds are put away for the night you’ll get to experience that one guy that gets over served at the bar and creates the “Remember when we were here last and (insert name) did that?”. As they say, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey that matters.”

There’s nothing better than stopping to take pictures at a scenic location and have it filled up with other people. That way when you take them out at a later date you can laugh when you see that one guy that screwed up for whatever reason.

Let’s make a pact that the rest of the seasons mileage won’t be as important as the shared experiences. That’s why we are the Snomads Snofari Club.
