December 2011 Presidents Message

As I write this, there’s six inches of fresh power on the deck at the cottage with more expected tonight, Not a bad way to get in the snowmobiling mood.

With most of the hard work this fall behind us, it’s time to get ready for our clubs’ twenty seventh riding season. We have fourteen rides for your enjoyment this season, I can’t remember the last time we had such a large variety of rides and locations to choose from. I strongly encourage everyone to take a look and book early.

I know that some members weren’t able to attend our Annual Kick Off Party last month but the place was a full house. We raised hundreds of dollars for Easter Seals Of Michigan. It was great to see members enjoying themselves while feasting on a meal of roasted pork, chicken, meat balls with many other choices. Recognition and awards where presented to members, congratulations to Matt Baxter for “Snomad of the Year” and Bill Sheldon as “Volunteer of the Year”, both of them are well deserving of these awards. Our Ride coordinators where on hand, with ride fliers and details of their rides, and its going to be a great season.

The party was filled with an enormous amount of excitement and laughter though out the night by those who attended, Many of us left with our hands full of prizes at the end of the night. Our recreation committee hit this one out of the park this year; they need to be commended for all the hard work they put into planning this event. Thank you!

If you find that ride you would like to attend and need more details be sure to visit our clubs’ web site and message board. It offers you most everything you need. We have the rides all planned out and the dates are set, Now we just need Mother Nature to do her part. If she does, we are in for one exciting season of snowmobiling this year. I encourage each one of you to get out and join us for a week or weekend of snowmobiling with your fellow SnomadS for some fun and enjoyment.

Id like to thank all those that helped out at events these last few months, there are too many names to announce, but you know who you are. We would not be able to do this with out YOU…

On behalf of myself and the Board of Directors,  I’d like to wish you and your family a safe holiday season.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. God bless you.

Remember to Ride safe, Ride often, and Enjoy life; you only get one chance at it.
