what I want for Christmas, a Ski-doo Olympic Snowmobile. Within a couple
of years, our little neighborhood in Troy became popular with snowmobiles
during the winter months. My friend Bob had a Yamaha 433, and he gave
every kid in our neighborhood rides on his sled. In 1971 My father bought
us the family Christmas present that excites me too this day, a 1972 Artic
Cat Panther 399. I remember him saying her bought the Artic Cat because
the fuel tank was in the rear of the sled. The Ski-doo’s fuel tank was in the
front of the sled. My dad was worried us kids might run into something
causing a fuel leak. That Christmas is one that I will never forget, we rode
that sled for years and years before I bought my first sled, a 1982 Yamaha
SS440. What a fun sled. Now some 58 years later, I still look forward to the
winter skies and plenty of snow, and riding with my fellow of SnomadS.
