Is your snowmobile ready for the
shakedown ride?
Yes, we know the leaves are turning, and the nights are getting
colder, and yes, it’s going to snow. My question is your equipment
ready? I came across a good article in the October issue American
Snowmobiler Magazine.
The article starts by pulling your sled from the summer storage area
and wash it. (I can just look out my kitchen window to see my sled).
Now they rinse the dust off the sled with use a power washer, but if I
used one, I would blow the windshield, and side panels off the sled, so
I’m sticking to a garden hose. Next, get your car wah soap and wash
mitt, and a SOS pad for the raw aluminum areas. Now remove all the
plastic parts and panels from your sled, that’s if you haven’t blown
them off with your power washer. Clean all the parts of your sled, you
may need some type of degreaser if necessary.
