On December 3, 2011 a group of nine Snomads drove up to Deckerville in Michigan’s thumb to help our closest neighboring club, the Thumbs Up Snowmobile Club sign and mark their trails.
Chuck Comstock, Ray Williams, Merle Fitch and Matt Baxter met up in Clarkston. Another group consisting of John Newman, Tim Featherston, Dwight Wiseman, Marty Foster, and Al Cumpf, met up in Lenox Twp with a pair of clean and shiny ATV’s in ...

With most of the hard work this fall behind us, it’s time to get ready for our clubs’ twenty seventh riding season. We have fourteen rides for your enjoyment this season, I can’t remember the last time we had such a large variety of rides and locations to choose from. ...

With the fall season winding down and winter fast approaching, we look to the start off a busy 2011/2012 snowmobile season and our twenty seventh year. The club is fiscally sound; new memberships are up, and all of our paper work has been properly filed with the state. All-in-all this is a very positive way to start the season.
The ride coordinators have been taking on the difficult task of putting together what I believe will be a very impressive ...

Summer seems to always take it’s time to arrive, then quicker than you can blink an eye its Labor Day and summer is coming to a close. This summer provided lots of heat and I suspect many of us spent time, boating, atv riding, camping, swimming, or just trying to stay cool. The summer’s heat and activities are coming to an end which always leads us to our annual family picnic at Pontiac State Park in Waterford. It was wonderful ...

Soon, the winds will be howling and the snow will be flying. Daytime temps will be in the 20’s. You’ll have your gear bag packed, your helmet polished, your sled prepped and the oil changed in your tow vehicle. So are you ready to head north? Nope. You’ve forgotten one of the most important pieces of the sledding experience. Your trailer.
Now, is the best time of the year to get your trailer ready. While the grass is soft and ...

Windshield Bag
Handlebar Bag
Tank/Map Bag
Clutch Cover Box
Trunk
Coat Pockets

Can someone please tell me where our snowmobile season has gone; I swear it seemed it was just last week when I was running down my favorite trail at the cottage while enjoying a few pops and laughs with some fellow members. The season usually starts with us waiting and waiting for the snow to fall, and as soon as it comes it seems to disappear, leaving us wanting more and more. Many of us just wanted one more weekend ...

It always seems to amaze me how short our snowmobile season really is, it was only weeks ago I was commenting of our shakedown ride, now March is around the corner and were nearing the end of our season.
At the beginning of the season the snow gods where not very good to us, several of the clubs rides were canceled due to lack of snow and poor riding conditions. But Snomads are resilient; we were still able to ...

With most of the hard work out of the way, the snowmobile season has finally arrived with a bang. The Shakedown ride was canceled, it was a week early it seems. The only thing left now is to sit back and wait for the weather get cold and the first flakes to fall. With the Shakedown ride just weeks away, many of us are turning our attention to our favorite weather sites. For me, this is the hardest time of the year, waiting for December 1st.
